"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable..."

About Me
Sandra Kesselman-Hardy, MSW, RSW
As a Professional Social Work clinician for fifty years, the focus of my work has been in the areas of personal relationships, crisis intervention, grief, loss and emotional problems related to critical illness (notably cancer). I have extensive experience in individual and family counselling, as well as relationship issues in family-run businesses.

I have facilitated numerous workshops in North America and abroad, and have lectured at several major Canadian universities. Over the years a number of health-care institutions and private industries have sought my services. I conducted several specialized programs for government departments such as Consumer and Corporate Affairs, Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Public Works Canada and the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs. I have also been a guest speaker on a number of local and national television and radio programs, such as TVO Speaking Out and local Ottawa radio/television stations.
During my professional career, I have been employed by several teaching hospitals, both in the United States and Canada. In these positions, I’ve provided counselling services specifically related to oncology, palliative care, grief and loss.
For over 40 years, I have maintained a private practice specializing in emotional problems related to illness, grief and loss. The goal of my practice is to enhance disease prevention and emotional coping skills, using both personal and systematic approaches to foster personal growth. I promote the belief that, by encouraging individuals to express themselves and utilizing their own talents and resources, they become more effective in problem solving and coping. I wholeheartedly believe that a collaborative, client-focused and caring approach can lead to improved relationships and better communication within a family or community.
